Samantha,
could you stay after school tomorrow, Thursday, for a brief summary of what you missed today?
Thanks.
Do not worry about the reading.
Visit www.libertyle.wikispaces.com and download two files from the Homeostasis webpage: Negative Feedback Show and Negative Feedback Worksheets.
You have to make the Glucose level graph for tomorrow. That's the homework.

1.- What is homeostasis? Homeostasis is a state of balance in the body

2.- What is another word for “homeostasis”? a “steady state” or dynamic equilibrium.

3.- Why is homeostasis constantly threatened?

Because an organism´s external and internal environment is constantly changing, its homeostasis is constantly threatened

4.- Explain how does an organism maintain homeostasis? The balance is maintained through a series of negative feedback mechanisms.

5.- As an example of maintaining homeostasis, how do organisms readjust body temperature?

your heart and breathing rates slightly altered, and your blood flow increased or decreased just to keep your safe and alert as you go about your daily tasks

7.- Describe what is “dynamic equilibrium”. It describes the constant small corrections that normally keep the internal environment within the limits needed for survival.

8.- What can interfere with homeostasis or dynamic equilibrium? Certain microorganisms or diseases can interfere with dynamic equilibrium
