Stem cells are the master cells of the human body. They can divide to produce copies of themselves and many other types of cell. Stem cells repair the damaged tissue and are responsible for development as well as other processes in organisms. The type of treatment to repair damaged cells or tissue that have been damaged by disease or injury is known as Cell-Based Therapy.

Hi Maja, good job!
How stem cells are different from body cells?
Could you explain more about Cell-Base Therapy?

from the way that i understood it, sterm cell arecells that are mostly found in multy celular organism.

Stem cells will help us understand how they transform into the dazzling array of specialized cells that make us what we are. Some of the most serious medical conditions, such as cancer and birth defects, are due to problems that occur somewhere in this process.

hope this makes sence....

Stem cells have the ability to develop into many different cell types in the body during early life and growth. In many tissues they serve as a sort of internal system, dividing without limit to replenish (replace, renew) other cells as long as the person or animal is still alive. When they divide, they can also become another type of cell with more specialized funtions such as muscle cell, a red blood cell, or a brain cell. With those regenerative abilities, they can treat serious diseases.

Definition of Stem cell:
*Stem cell are cell that are found in multi-cellular organisms. They are determine by the ability to reproduce themselves through mitotic cell division and differentiating into a diverse range of specialized cell types.

How can they be treat?

*they can be treat by the following phases
1)After a long period of inactivity. they can renew themselves by mitosis
2)they can divide to repair and replace worn out or damaged tissues

The stem cells are a kind of cell that can self-renewing.On the sometime they can make various function cells.
Stem Cell is a kind of inadequately differentiated, premature Cell, tissue organ regeneration and with all the potential function of human cells, called the "universal" .

Hi Mr.Soto i found that stem cell are in a major part the creator of every cell who are produced by mitosis and an important fact is that they can change structure as well that they can attribute to their self function using by ordinary cells. As the earlier step of the embryonic development stem cell produce all tissue in the body.therefore scientist are studying the fact that stem cell could be a reversal against brain and spinal cord injuries. From your point of view if the process was create do you think that it will affect us totally positively or with some disability???

Hi Nene,
Thanks for your comment. Please, rethink your post.
First, you’re right; stem cells are found in multicellular organism. How are stem cells different from other body cells? What makes them so special?
Second, think about how stem cells will help to treat some diseases. Hint: that will be related to what makes stem cells so special and different.
Then make a second draft of your response to the main question.

Hi Passy,
I like your answer to the first part of the question “What are stem cells”. Your answer is simple and easy to understand. Now, get deeper into how stem cells will help treating diseases and disorders. Again, focus on the second part of the original question. Thanks for your comment.

Hi Julien,
You make a good answer to the first part of the original question: what are stem cells. Your explanation is easy to understand. I hope you did not just copy and paste but understand what you wrote in. However, the second part of your post did not address the original question. It is not about “how can they be treat?” I don’ t know what “they” is about. Tell me about how stem cells will be helful to treat diseases and disorders.
I looking forward to reading you new post.

Hi David,
Please, think and re-write your definition of stem cells. Make it simple so you and I can understanding. You have a bunch of good ideas in your post but they are disconnected. Again, make a new post and tell me in simple English what stem cells are and how they are different from other body cells.
You made a good point about how stem cells will be used in the future to treat disorders. (The first student in fact that get closer to an acceptable answer). Please, try harder here as well.
I do not undestand your question: I guess you meant pros and cons of stem cell therapy. I would say it will bring a new dimension in medicine and it will affect us in a very positive way. However,….there are also some concerns I would like you to guess for me too.

It is the kind of cells which have the ablity to reprdouce repeatedly, forming exact copies of themselves,

They can treat the human diseases like if there is damage in any part of the body they can prdouce new cells to repair the dimage

Hi Peng,
I hope you understand what you wrote in the post. I will bring the original question in Friday’s test. You are right in your definition of stem cells, they are called pluripotential cells as well. Can you tell me why?
Please, get deeper in the second part of the question: how stem cells will help treating diseases and disorders?
Thanks for posting.

Hi Sulaiman,
thanks for posting. Certainly, stem cells have the ability to reproduce and make copies; however, they have other features that make them specials and unique. What are those? Research more about what stem cells are in contrast to other body cells.
Your second part is quite good. For now focus on the first part of the original question.

About this question,i learned about the stem cell can change phase so many way, like almost body pary has some prblem, then the stem cell can X'sfrom with especial ways.

i think the stem cell is the biggest help for hunman is cause of its characteristic, that can change to any other king fo cell, that is easy way to resolve some disease that was destroy cell.

Hi Peng Xiang,
a couple of observations about your last post.

First, you're right; stem cells they can "change" to any kind of other body cells. In other words, stem cells divide and become any tissue such as skin cells, muscle cells, bones, neurons, etc... The word "pluripotential" means to have a lot of potential.

I also agree with you in the "potential" of these cells to cure disease that are affecting tissues, organs, or simply cells.

Please, write in standarized English, pay attention to you spelling, use commas, periods, and write simple and clear.

Could you repost your comment with the help of my comments above and having in mind the grammar and spelling? Thanks and good job.

stem cells are the basis cells of human body. the zagote is made of stem cells. they produce into all of other type of cell use mitosis, like muscular cells, blood cell and nerve cells to bulid human body. the difference of sten cells and other body cells is that body cell just produce same type cells in mtiosis.

Hi Lin Jian,
I liked your response about what stem cells are. There are two things you have to work on. First, how stem cells are different from body cells. Your response about that is not clear. Second, you have to tell how stem will be used in the future to heal human diseases and disorders. Please, make a new post answering those questions above.
Thanks

Stem cells are the master cells of the human body. They can divide to produce copies of themselves and many other types of cell. They are found in various parts of the human body at every stage of development from embryo to adult. Because stem cells are so versatile, they could potentially be used to repair and replace damaged human tissue

the difference between Stem cells and body cells is that stem cells have the potential to turn into any cell type and they are found in great numbers in developing fetus's. A normal body cell is one that comprises parts of your body for example: your skin and is produced through mitosis division

sorry i wrote so much =/

the difference between stem cells and other body cells is that stem cells can produce stem cells and other body cells use mitosis but other body cells just can produce the own type cells no stem cells and other cells.and when human is in diseases and disorders, other body cells die, the stem cells can help to produce this type cell to heal.
